Twisted Illusion
VOKCHOI’s first collection, drawn from a snake later stories turned into a monster under a patriarchal reading of the world.
Before Greek myth, Mother Earth did not belong to one sex. She looked after earth and sky without dividing them, a snake whose scales and shedding of skin were once her power of return. As the myth was bent into patriarchy, that figure was twisted. The jewellery takes back the snake’s first mystery and complexity, to remember Mother Nature at the beginning, and to carry that older god close to the body.
